A thought occurred to me the other night, (I know that in and of itself is already a miracle! :) Anyways...I was thinking about how to help supplement our families income. I laid there thinking and I remembered someone saying (someone important...not just anyone! But my memory is terrible so I can't remember!) that you should do something that you love and are passionate about. I love scrap booking! My sweet Averi is 6 years old and I am on her 6th very fat scrapbook, the same goes for my adorable Carter who is 4 and has 4 huge scrap books! I thought I have time in the evenings...so I could scrap for others! You know that you want your pictures protected and kept in a way that will allow you to enjoy and show them off for years, so let me do the work for you!
Pricing
I will scrap one 12x12 album for $100.oo. This includes the album itself along with 10 full layouts, and a beginning page and an ending page. The layouts will all include some or all of the following, heavy card stock and printed paper, brads, eyelets, metal embellishments, a title, stamps, ribbon, rub-ons, dye-cuts, and or vellum. Of course I will only use the acid free products in order to protect and prolong the life of your photo's! I try very hard to make each page unique and original. I will do additional lay outs if needed for $10.00 per lay out. I usually have about 15 full lay outs in my kids books and that is for a full year!
Because I have never done this before...I am unsure how long it will take me, I am thinking about 30 days for a completed album. I will only be taking one order at a time and will be using a waiting list if I am lucky enough to get some business lined up :)
Themed Books
I would also be willing to do a themed book. For example, I am doing an entire 8x8 album for Averi and Carter's trip to Disney Land! This way I can just put one or two pages into their regular scrapbook and not have to try a squeeze another 20 lay outs into there books, but also preserve all those memories for us.
I have made alphabet books for Averi and Carter as well...
A is for Averi (picture of Averi) B is for Bike (picture of Averi riding her bike C is for Carter ( picture of her brother Carter) D is for Dad (picture of Averi and Dad)
Each page has a picture of the child and the corresponding letter. These alphabet books are fun to make as gifts for parents and Grandparents. I made one this year for my grandma and almost every letter had a child grandchild or great grandchild on it...the few that didn't were assigned to a family, i.e my family had Q and I did pictures of us sleeping for Quiet...my sisters family had z and they gave me pictures of them at the zoo. These books are great...they include everyone in the family!
Tips:
Don't get overwhelmed! It is easy to think...I am years and years behind...I don't know where to start...I can't do this! You can! All you have to do is get me the pictures and I will do the hard part!
My kids scrapbooks always start with their Birthday and go to right before there next Birthday.
A 15 layout page might look like this: Opening page: Averi's Birthday Layout #1 Averi's Birthday (I take a lot of pictures so I need 2 layouts sometimes for one event. Averi's Birthday is right before Christmas so... #2 Christmas #3 Christmas #4 Playing in the snow #5 Visit to Nana's house #6 Easter #7 First Day of Kindergarten #8 Seaworld #9 DisneyLand #10 Day at the Beach #11 School Keepsakes #12 Day in the Canyon #13 Visit with cousins #15 Halloween Ending Page: Playing in the leaves
Don't be afraid of enlargements:
I love to look at a group of pictures from one event and enlarge my favorite. 5x7's are great and if I only have a two or three pictures from an event but love the picture and have to scrapbook it 8x10's are the way to go!
Costco online:
I love Costco online! There pricing is unbeatable and you can get your photo's in most cases in one hour!
On Costco Online you can crop, edit and enhance, get red eye out, change to black and white or sepia or any other color for that matter! There site is fairly user friendly!
